Listen to this step

Spread peace by greeting others with Assalamu Alaikum.

Sahih Bukhari 6228

أفشوا السلام بينكم

The Prophet said spread peace among yourselves.

Note: Return salam even more generously.

Be mindful of your words.

Sahih Bukhari 6475

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ

Speak good or remain silent. Avoid backbiting and lying.

Honor and respect your parents.

Quran 17:23

وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا

Allah mentions parents right after worshipping Him.

Note: Treat non-Muslim parents with kindness too.

Truthfulness is a hallmark of a believer.

Sunan Ibn Majah 3971

عليكم بالصدق

Truthfulness leads to righteousness and Paradise.

Note: Avoid lying even in jest.

Practice patience and self-control.

Quran 3:134

وَالكاظِمينَ الغَيْظَ وَالعاَفينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ

The strong person is one who controls himself when angry.

Note: Change position if very angry. Seek refuge in Allah.

Help those in need without seeking recognition.

Sunan Abi Dawud 1539

الصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ

Secret charity extinguishes sins like water extinguishes fire.

Note: Give consistently rather than large amounts occasionally.
